  • As a business lending officer, credit analysis and reporting writing are necessary skills to communicate and articulate a risk proposition to assist bank management in making its approval-reject decision.
  • Bank management depends on the credit officer to analyse and then communicate his or her findings, opinions and recommendations for a credit decisions.
  • Lack of credit writing skills would be a major handicap for the bank management as its decision-making process would be delayed. The credit officer needs the ability to write to communicate and articulate his or her, credit recommendation. The inability to do so, would either increase the risk of bad credit, or a delay in credit approval or possibly missed lending opportunity for the bank.
