Kenny Tay at Canadia Bank PLC, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, after completion of a Project Management course for banking managers and operations executives in 2019.
Many people often think of Project Management in the context of the construction and engineering environment. In reality Project Management is the discipline requiring a set of skills for the process of getting specific work assignment completed to the customer’s satisfaction and within the resource and time constraints. This is required in all non-construction and engineering environment all the time and they can involve office managers and management executives as frequently as needed. Such assignments requiring project management skills include the setting up of a new branch office, launching a nationwide sales campaign and the integration of the operations of two merged companies in a merger and acquisition exercise.
Lack of project management skills may result in delays, higher costs, unsatisfactory conclusion, or worse, abortion of the assignment.
